Hello, I am Ana
I'm a project manager. I’m a parent. An expat currently based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn't in the original plan. Similar to many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Everyday chores seemed more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, doubt, and hands-on learning were part of it. Yet gradually we settled into routines. We found spots that fit our needs, connected with other families, and began to create something steady.
Why I Built Merzan Doli Vex
Most online guidance came from corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a sincere, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap by offering practical guidance drawn from real-life in Portugal.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This Site Covers:
- Practical insights from life in Portugal
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a meaningful change occurs
This Site Does Not:
- A tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Portugal goes on, and the learning journey continues. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep recording our findings.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, please feel free to contact me.
Cheers,
